Mixology

A Bit About Me

I have a hidden passion for mixology and cocktails, similar to Bruce Wayne's secret persona. It has been an incredible journey, but I feel like I am just getting started. My first bartending job opened the door for me, and even though it wasn't anything special, I learned and grew so much.

However, my love for bartending truly blossomed when I traveled to the European School of Bartending. Although the possibility of lockdowns threatened my travel plans, I didn't let this stop my adventure. I made the spontaneous decision to travel alone, and it was there that I learned the fundamentals of mixology in the heart of Amsterdam. This experience opened my eyes to the world of mixology and marked the beginning of my journey.

Looking towards the future, my goal is to explore the world of mixology further by traveling and meeting as many people from the industry as possible and experiencing different cultures.

Recently, I was part of a brand photo shoot for a company that specialises in alcoholic beverages, and this is something I would love to pursue further, either by creating my own spirit/beer-focused brand or by running my own bar. Mixology will always be a part of my life, and I can't wait to see where my journey takes me next!

Work Experience

August 2020 - September 2020

June 2019 - April 2020

At my current place of work, i have started to re discover where my passion lies as a bartender. At the Maul Collective i have a chance to work on technique, whilst working within a fast pace work environment. I have the opportunity to learn and be apart of the craft brew process as well as working during live events (DJ etc).

A small creative environment to focus on expanding my skills as a bartender. Bringing together all the skills that I learned previously and refining them in a small positive environment where I can explore my passion for mixology.

Building on skills learned and passing the in-house certification this was a customerfacing role requiring a creative and professional approach. Working on average 50 hours a week as a Bartender needed personality, technical skills and stamina to represent the brand and create a positive customer experience every time.

Completed an internationally recognised professional bartender course. Lasting 4 weeks, the diploma tested learning of over 60 cocktails, free pour and speed flair under exam conditions. Provided the opportunity to live and study independently in Amsterdam for the duration of the course.

Worked for an independent family run business, in a small team, where trust and reliability were key. Initially employed as a bartender and promoted to assistant manager within 6 months at the age of 18.
